# Basis

> A free crypto charting and analysis terminal that runs in the browser. Live
> order flow, derivatives data, 200 indicators, screening,
> backtesting and an AI assistant that operates the terminal itself. Optional
> Basis Founders access adds paid research tools and stock/commodity perpetuals.

Core crypto charts, indicators, order flow, derivatives and screening work with no account
at all. An account is needed only for account-bound features such as saving work across
devices, using the in-terminal assistant and buying/accessing Founders features.

## Paid stock and commodity footprint charts

Basis Founders costs $15 USD for 30 days, renewed manually with no
automatic recurring charge, or $50 USD once for lifetime access.
Card checkout through Creem and crypto checkout through NOWPayments are available.
Applicable taxes or provider/network fees are shown at checkout. These are paid
instruments, not a free trial. The free crypto terminal remains free.

Supported Binance stock, ETF-linked and commodity perpetuals include NVDAUSDT,
SPYUSDT, QQQUSDT, XAUUSDT, XAGUSDT, CLUSDT and BZUSDT. Their footprints use Binance
executed aggregate trades. They are not Nasdaq/NYSE share transactions, dark-pool
data or CME/COMEX/NYMEX/ICE futures tape. Hyperliquid stock and commodity charts
also exist, but Basis's exact-trade footprint currently uses Binance.

## What it actually has

- **Order flow**: volume footprint with bid/ask volume at every price level,
  per-level and per-bar delta taken from the exchange's own aggressor flag,
  imbalance, absorption, cumulative volume delta, and volume profile.
- **Derivatives**: funding rates, open interest, liquidations and long/short
  ratio across venues, funding compared on each venue's real settlement
  interval, and a dated futures basis curve.
- **Options**: Deribit, OKX, Bybit and Binance merged for Bitcoin, Ethereum and
  the altcoins they list — open interest by strike and expiry, max pain,
  modelled dealer gamma, vanna and charm with the zero gamma level, implied
  volatility, 25-delta skew, the smile, term structure and a volatility
  surface, options flow with block trades, the chain with CSV export, and a
  multi-leg strategy payoff and scenario lab. Volatility is read from one
  reference venue, never averaged across venues. Open it at

- **200 indicators** and 20 chart types,
  including footprint, volume profile, market profile, Renko, Kagi, line break
  and point-and-figure. There is no cap on how many go on one chart.
- **Screening and backtesting** over the venue's instruments, in the browser.
- **An AI assistant** that reads market data with tools and changes the chart —
  it adds indicators, draws levels and reports what it measured. Inside the
  terminal it runs on the user's own API key, from a choice of providers;
  nothing is resold and no key reaches our servers.
- **An MCP server** at https://www.basischarts.com/api/mcp, so tools work from Claude,
  ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client. Public tools need no API key and no account;
  Founder-only tools require an active membership and the user's personal connection.
  The model is the caller's own, and Basis provides only the data and the tools. The agent

## What it does not do

- No brokerage, no order routing, no custody. It analyses; it cannot trade.
- Options flow covers a full day on Deribit but only the latest public trades
  on OKX and Bybit, and none on Binance, which publishes no combined feed.
  Dealer gamma, vanna and charm rest on a positioning assumption, not on
  published positions.
- No financial advice, and no signal service.
- No native share-exchange or CME futures tape. Paid stock and commodity charts
  are venue-specific perpetuals, not ownership of the underlying shares or goods.
- The in-terminal assistant needs an API key from a provider such as Anthropic,
  OpenAI or Google. It is not a hosted chatbot and there is no free inference.
  The MCP server is the exception and only because it inverts the arrangement:
  the model belongs to whoever connects, so Basis pays for no inference there
  either.
- Historical order-flow depth is bounded by what the venue serves and by what
  the browser has loaded; trade-at-price data is heavy.

Footprint and volume profile use Binance crypto spot/perpetual data; the heatmap
uses Binance perpetuals and accumulates book history while running, not a 24/7
